We’ve just had the front of our bungalow transformed with a new tarmac drive by Andy and his team. All went smoothly and very happy with the result.

  Excellent dropped kerk installed
I was very impressed with the team that came to install adropped kerb for the Church in St Budeaux. The work was completed in a day inspite of having to remove concrete which unexpectedly was over 8" thick. The men were cheerful, polite and worked extremel hard enjoying copious mugs of coffeee to keep them going.
I could not have asked for a better finished product nor team to complete the work. Thank You

My whole driveway was ruined after burst pipe caused a very large underground flood. I chose County Roadways based on their proximity and their excellent reviews and they submitted a cost for my insurance. I wasn't disappointed as Andy and his team squeezed our job in before the xmas break, despite scheduling delays caused by the hideous weather. They were fast, clean and above all polite and professional. Nothing was too much. They even found the coolest area of freshly laid tarmac so our dog could get in and out of the house. Andy left the site clean and tidy but not until he'd given us care tips for fresh tarmac, which we will observe. The finished result looks excellent. I know some of my neighbours will be interested in speaking to Andy. I'd add photos but it is now dark outside.

  Dropped Kerb
Very easy to deal with and the whole process was straightforward.
County sorted out the council application and the work was carried out when they said it would happen. An all round good experience.

Costs will vary depending on the size of the area to be dropped., the materials used, and the time and labour costs involved. No two dropped kerb projects are the same. Please contact us and we will be happy to provide a free site survey, no obligation quotation, and a timeframe for completion.

If you intend to drive a vehicle over the footpath into your driveway off a main road, then you will need a dropped kerb. If you do not have a dropped kerb, you must not drive over the footway. If you do so, you are breaking the law and enforcement action could be taken to prevent such practice.
You may become liable from a collision with a pedestrian
You may become liable for damage to the footway
You may face considerable costs because of damage to any utility apparatus under the footway.

Yes, we offer this service. However, planning permission must be obtained from the local council for any dropped kerb installation prior to the work being carried out.

Yes, the council as the highway authority has the power to take action to prevent use of unauthorised crossings. They can also charge you for putting the pavement back to its former use.

Yes. If the dropped kerb is to be positioned on a Principal Road or a Classified Road, then planning permission must be obtained through the planning department. There is a charge for this service.
